HFA's Lauren & Matthew Holman Honored at Derby Event

Updated: Oct 14

On Saturday, May 4th, Lauren and Matthew Holman, Partners at HFA, were honored by the Monmouth Park Charity Fund during their annual Kentucky Derby Celebration. The Holman’s were celebrated for their substantial contributions to both the fund and the broader community.

The Monmouth Park Charity Fund is committed to raising and distributing funds for charitable causes in Monmouth County. Originating as a gesture of gratitude for the community's support in revitalizing Monmouth Park Racetrack, it has evolved into a steadfast pillar of philanthropy and community engagement.

At HFA, Lauren Holman, CPA, PSA, is the Partner who leads the Non-Profit Audit and Attestation Division and serves as the firm's Vice-President. Matthew Holman, CPA, PSA, is the Partner who leads the Advisory Division and has been instrumental in establishing robust internal quality control measures at HFA. Their journey began during their freshman year at Franklin and Marshal College, and over two decades, they have been dedicated to sharing their auditing and accounting expertise with communities across New Jersey.

Beyond their professional commitments, Lauren and Matthew actively support community service through HFA Cares, the firm's volunteer program. Encouraging team members to engage with organizations aligned with their values, HFA sponsors events like HFA’s Day of Service as well as food and clothing drives, empowering employees to contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Lauren and Matthew also devote their time on many Non-Profit Boards, with Lauren as Board Chair of Fulfill, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern and Coastal New Jersey, the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore, and various Parent Teacher Associations. Meanwhile, Matthew serves as Treasurer at the Monmouth Park Charity Fund.

In addition to their professional and philanthropic commitments, the Holman’s deeply value family moments, often venturing to Point Pleasant and relishing beach outings with their three children. In a heartfelt moment during their recognition speech, Lauren emphasized the significance of instilling a caring nature in both their children and colleagues, stating, “We get to show our children, through our actions, that together, we can make a difference in our community. If we make the world a little brighter or lighten the load for someone just a little bit, that day has been beyond successful.”

HFA is proud to have these stellar Partners who inspire our employees and communities through meaningful acts of kindness. Heartfelt Congratulations to both!
